Client: mute-labs GmbH
Year: 2019/2020
Sector: Furniture
Service: Product design, Design for manufacturing
The bench and stool were conceived as complementary pieces of furniture in the course of designing the phone and meeting booth for mute-labs. Due to the dark color scheme, the furniture visually withdraws and directs the focus to the center of the booths, the table. Pulverized steel and open-pore lacquered ash create a valuable look and feel. The design creates clarity through its visible construction and sensible choice of materials. The slim but independent design language makes the furniture fully usable beyond the booths.
PROCESS
The materials and manufacturing technologies already established in the cabins were the starting point for the design of the furniture. Along the possibilities of wood and metal processing we worked out several designs and checked their proportions in a physical model.
