Year: 2019/2020
Sector: Office furniture
Service: Product design
For mute-labs, we designed the product, assembly instructions and packaging as a whole and transferred them to series production. The design challenge was to develop a telephone booth that fits well into different office situations. Despite a tight development budget, we achieved high quality design and workmanship. To achieve this, we identified the most important touchpoints and covered them with high-quality materials. We developed a universal, pleasing design language.
For the sister product, the Quattro, a multi-person booth, we were able to build on the established design language of the single-person booth. It was important to us to create a generous feeling of space despite the small size of the cabin. Free-standing furniture and large glass fronts contribute significantly to this.
In close cooperation with the manufacturer, we were able to implement all important features: Maximum space efficiency, integrated ventilation systems for low-noise air exchange and sound-absorbing double walls for optimal acoustics.
PROCESS
The two booths were designed mainly with the help of drawings and CAD. Questions of material and details were clarified later in prototypes. This is the only way to objectively assess the room's impression.
